    Burnout

Hmm, true, but the ability to cope with stress at work is highly dependent on the ability to see the purpose and just the reasons for embracing the suck. Just a prospective recruit here, trying to make sense of all the forum/reddit posts with personal stories... Thanks for sharing! Maybe the...

    Burnout

Is burnout really a mental health issue? Loss of loyalty, disappointment - can it really be helped by shrinks? So you had a certain image of what your job was going to be like. That image might have been created by your own delusions, fiction like movies or books, recruiters, educational...

Mass Stabbings in Saskatchewan- Sept 4/2022

RIP Reshared by Leanne Sanders, from APTN, not their family. Many people there on the reserve with last name Sanders. I think media changed their names to Sanderson.

    The "Nursing Officer" Merged Thread

Copying it from another thread as a side convo. Just wanted to ask what kind of medevacs happen in Trenton? Probably, contracting out for flying out civilians? Could that be peds, or is it specialized to adult trauma? Or just about anything critical?

Medics requiring to maintain a license

Interesting! So, my humble observations after years in emerg is that we still have a Doctor-centric system, but kinda unofficially. They would tell you all kinds of fairy tales in nursing school about how there is no hierarchy and all health care professions are equal parts of the system. But in...

Medics requiring to maintain a license

Ok, thanks, I misinterpreted HCA in my own context, 'health care aid' instead of admin. Makes sense.

Medics requiring to maintain a license

What exactly is the incentive? Could you elaborate? Currently I'm a part of a civilian medical system and what you said sounds about right about what is going on here as well.

    BMOQ/BMO 2022 - Regular Force

How heavy is the backpack? Another question is about running in winter, do you run outside in your tactical boots? I have tactical Underarmours, so I bought crampons for them to practice running in winter, but others are saying that in winter you're supposed to still run in your runners.

I want to hear about where your interest for the military comes from!

Not sure exactly how it started, my granddad was a WWII Veteran (yes, I'm older now, in my 40s). I grew up in a very disciplined and regulated environment. Came to Canada, became a nurse. Was hoping to be existing in a professional environment, working with disciplined people because...

    The "Nursing Officer" Merged Thread

I appreciate your comprehensive response, MedCorps, it makes it very clear and gives more information to make up my mind and be motivated, hit the gym and increase the number of the push-ups I can do…

    The "Nursing Officer" Merged Thread

Who is your 'boss' when you're posted to a hospital as an RN? Can they mandate you to work overtime? Do you get overtime shifts if you want to? Can you be a casual RN at the same time at work somewhere else? Thank you in advance for information.
