    Cost of housing in Canada

If kids ate less avocado toast and pulled themselves up by their parents bootstraps like we all, did they'd be fine.. Nothing to see here. There is no crisis you bigot!

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

Not really... Canada Post is a Crown Corporation, and as such is not part of the PS or CAF. They cost so much that most postal interactions are subcontracted to Shopers Drug Mart, or other local suppliers. If you aren't in a Canada Post building, you're likely not talking to a Canada Post...

    The War in Ukraine

I feel like I wasn't the target audience... That video hit all my interests, and left me wondering what Met support the AFU needs... Edit: If those women can make Shepard's pie, borscht, and pierogis I'll sell my own mother to be on their side. 🤣

Bridges can be designed for it, but that bridge is likely old enough to have been designed when ships were much smaller. I know in Hobart and Tampa they added protective dolphins around the bridge piers to prevent direct hits from ships.

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

No, but it is saving money when you just make the ship sail short pers, and don't backfill anything. Also, never underestimate the power of "that's a different pool of money" in decision making. Many people will peserve their rice bowl, even if it leads to greater losses for others.

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

I heard today that PRes positions on deploying ships have been scaled back to save money... But, if nobody else can go, I'm sure a few army guys would love to be the newest converts. We have nicer hats...

All of those things plus a full Nav brief with all involved parties, and clearly delineated "Commmand Decision Points" with COAs for dangerous sections of the transit.

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Theoretically they could be very useful, we just haven't used them that way, so by custom they are useless. I'm all for an apolitical GG appointed by the King, and a senate that takes their job seriously, but we don't have either of those things.

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Then it goes back, and the CPC loudly explain to voters that their wishes are being thwarted by an unelected body... Senators, not being compete idiots, and wanting to ensure their gravy train stays on the tracks will fall into line.

The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

The Senate refusing to pass a bill from the HoC is as unlikely as the GG refusing to give it Royal Assent. Even dyed-in-the-wool LPC Senators are smart enough to understand they can't stop a piece of legislation if the HoC pushes it.

    Hamas invaded Israel 2023

A better comparison is Germany or Japan in WWII. The Allies killed many civilians during the war, but it was part of the military effort to destroy the German and Japanese ability to fight. We didn't stop at the borders of Germany because they had to be crushed. The same is now happening in...
