In regards to the pay, could that be the stem of the problem? Perhaps the unit asks for volunteers, and unless they get a certain quota of volunteers they will not send out any men. That means they don't have to pay them for something that does not contribute to the units effort.

Mabye once a year on parade night, dress will be combats here. For our teams its civi, except for skill and arms.

Our corp does it similar to that. We have to apply for our positions. Cadets choosing Platoon Commanders and above all had to get interviewed. I chose Platoon 2ic. I would never have thought I would actually be chosen for Plt Cmdr and be promoted to Warrant.

I remember reading a article on I think it was The lorne Scots Pipes and Drums, that you would need to have some experience. School musician for example.

I agree with Armyboi here, Most responses he gets are almost always negative. Give and you receive. Which actually lately he has been receiving, but not giving.  :D Excellent.

If DND can get money for the ODs. They will take that option over most others.

I wouldn't be surprised if in 4-8 years they will have the Cadetpat for issued clothing at camp.

I used to use ham radios years back. Still have them, though now shoved in a cupboard somewhere in the garage. Great for road usage when going camping up north. As well been in a few Ham radio clubs along the way... Just like the time when I would go the Tornado watchers club. I still remember...

Having the great feeling of being and doing something different with you're life that 95% of most teenagers would never think of doing in their lifetime. But mostly for me.... Having that great sense of family.   ;D

The competency test is not an accurate substitute for the CFAT. However, scoring 92 on that test does indicate that you do have the ability to do well on the CFAT.

Actually to stimulate interest in the CF. The word of mouth recommendation was truly the one that gave us a big jump in new Cadets. I think From the time M/Cpl Sop joined, as well with a few other females that are making good careers for themselves, is when more and more females began joining...
