    WOW, moving really fast?

You only do PT during your application if you are in the reserves. If you are in the reg force, you do the test your first day of training.

    Application Process Samples [2003 - 2018]

I'm afraid I don't know either, I changed my mind after my medical, so I was never in the reserves. Also, as long as there are no holdups on my medical or anything, I would expect that we would indeed be on the same NOAB sometime in June/July.

    WOW, moving really fast?

CFRC Halifax has been pretty good for me so far, I finished the paperwork today, and I have my medical and interview on thursday. Like you said though, then comes the waiting, have to wait until I graduate in May, then NOAB in June or July, if I'm lucky I won't be on BMOQ until August...

Battlestar Galactica (Beware....Possible SPOILERS! read at your own risk)

You could argue that she already brought the human race to their end by taking them to the Cylons on Earth. That being said, not doubt she still has a big part to play. I have to say that I was surprised the Chief would want to leave the fleet, now that he has practically made Galactica into a...

Battlestar Galactica (Beware....Possible SPOILERS! read at your own risk)

It's possible, but I don't think they will, I doubt they would introduce a new character in the last 5 episodes of the show. They have to start tying up all the loose ends. I know that "John" will be back though, possibly as soon as the next episode. They should all just go back to New...

Battlestar Galactica (Beware....Possible SPOILERS! read at your own risk)

That was my theory too, Daniel was her father, who was an artist, and she has some of his cylon memories, hence her having a destiny. Still doesn't explain how she found her own corpse (funeral of disposing of evidence?). Not that it matters, everyone is a Cylon anyways... :P

    The CIWS Discussion

In that case wouldn't a direct hit with a high explosive round do more damage than a sabot just smashing strait through it? Or maybe the problem is that missiles are so small that by the time the fuse triggers, the round has already passed through the other side of the missile?

Battlestar Galactica (Beware....Possible SPOILERS! read at your own risk)

Poor Galactica, with the shoddy construction and all the damage she's suffered. I wonder what will happen when Chief puts that organic resin in there, if the ship will grow even more awesome...

    The CIWS Discussion

Yes, I suppose that does make sense. I would guess that they probably tested this a long time ago and must have found that APDS rounds were more effective. I was just curious if a wall of flak would be more effective than a wall of tungsten slugs, but I guess for the purposes of shooting down...

    My application started finally

Good luck with your application! You should post your progress in this thread that is currently ongoing: Application Process Samples

    The CIWS Discussion

Is there an advantage to using tungsten APDS rounds as opposed to standard High Explosive, or High Explosive Armour Piercing rounds? Because usually APDS rounds are used against tanks, and so far as I know, missiles do not have armour. Wouldn't high explosive rounds with proximity fuses be more...

It probably would not work very well, that is why I don't see it happening anytime soon, but it would be pretty cool if it did.

    The CIWS Discussion

That would be quite interesting, to say the least. As long as we are talking about possible future applications, I would like to see a miniaturized laser weapon similar to the Airborne Laser System, now that would be something.

    The CIWS Discussion

That makes sense, maybe on an aircraft carrier it is possible, but I would think that on a frigate/destroyer, it would be a lot harder to store 9 ft long missiles than boxes of 20mm ammo. In addition to the fact that it would be much harder to handle them, especially in any type of sea state, as...

    The CIWS Discussion

As much as I hate to cite wikipedia, it does have a picture of some US sailors reloading the RAM launcher on a US aircraft carrier. So it could be possible, maybe not very feasible though. SeaRam Reload

    The CIWS Discussion

That is a concern, I believe that in this configuration, it only contains 11 missiles. That being said, you have to wonder how many targets the regular Phalanx can engage before it needs reloading. With 1500 rounds, and at a rate of 75 rounds per second, that is only 20 seconds of continuous...
