What if you have had a torn MCL and haven't had surgery, would the doctor still need to sign off? Would I even be allowed in, since my knees are in pretty bad shape? I'm going to physio and have to wear a knee brace for physical activity but I hope to be well enough soon to not need it.

Would some one in a trade like Medical officer or Nurse get to choose their element (eg. Army, Navy, Air Force), or is it simply assigned by the powers that be in NDHQ or wherever?

I did a little more searching and i found that you need to be at at least an advanced high school level or a first year university level. So, I may have to wait another year and practice really hard before I can get in. More time to get in shape!
