Cadets Joining the Reserves - Can it be Both?

It doesn't matter if it's a CF policy or a Cadet policy... it's still not allowed.

Cadets Joining the Reserves - Can it be Both?

Except as of... I think it was 2008... Cadets can no longer be a member of Cadets and a Reservist in the CF. They must be one or the other.

    Wearing American Jump Wings

It's the same course, the only difference is - one does it as a Cadet and one does it as a Reservist/RegF member. Those that got their wings as a Cadet but don't wear them, probably don't do so because they don't do their refreshers.

A place to discuss Jack Layton's Legacy objectively

Well, you bring removal of the Monarchy from Canadian society into the mix, and you'd be surprised at how much of the general public would agree with it. Quebecois or not. But that's a whole other can of worms.

DRDC Future Arctic Scenario Papers Out

OH BABY! Sign me up and hand me a rifle! On a more serious note: I find DRDC papers to be very intriguing as it gives you a more indepth look into what goes on in the military world. The way I see it, while Russia has a valid argument by saying that the Arctic region has never really been...

Oxford shoes: must I wear the military issued ones?

You know those thicker, more rugged looking boots that cadets were getting issued and how the material was mildly rough and MANY people have had trouble shining them, let alone keeping them black? I could no problem. Leather, whether it's new or old or if it's not real leather; I've never had a...

From 2007 as my first year on course there and up until 2010 when I finished my last summer as Staff, the stories and buildings always changed. As one person would say: "Oh but this H-block was haunted... blah blah" and I would proceed to say, "Oh really? I lived in that H-block in <insert...

Parachutist wings from cadets on my PRes or RegF uniform

It's just a rumour that they're going to stop offering it to Cadets. Until it actually stops being offered, don't listen to things people say without official documentation.

Am I weaker than a 5 year old?

No but I had the opportunity to run the RMC Course one year through some friends and family there and several times at one up at CFB Edmonton. I'm not your strongest kid on the block, I'm short and scrawny but I can clear a course no problem (and I have trouble lifting 24kg boxes full of liquor...

Cadets and the C7, and other rifles. Let me end the discussion once and for all

Corps is for the entirety of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets, which are broken down into units that (depending on size) will consist of more than one company (Infantry affiliated units for example) which then are broken into platoons and then sections at the smallest. Units with affiliation to...

BMQ and all it's glory (question inside about edumacation)

Alright, I had a feeling that was the case. I definitely want to make a career out of enrolling in the CF, but I would also like to pursue some post-secondary education (particularly the DMASc as it intrigues me quite a bit), so I will wait until after wards when I have more time  :) Thanks folks!
