"Just watch me?"
the Salmon Arm Salute, the pirouette, the starvation of the Canadian Forces, the rabid anti-Americanism, the dictatorship of the dopey old men of the courts (the gang most famous for the "women are NOT people" decision), the restart of Lord Durham's "civilizing of the French"...
We need a government with the spine of a pre-political-Trudeau or a Preston Manning, or ... to strongly correct an uncompleted aspect of the Enlightenment:
Indians are Human Beings and Canadian Citizens
Jim Prentice made a tiny step in that direction that human rights and modern Canadian...
Good news -- Sheila Copps has interviened and declared her support for "Less News, More Drama" at CBC.
Looks bad for the dopey old white men with the big salaries, and promotions for young cheap jounralists, perhaps even more VJs.
It is risky, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt...
Can anybody provide any background or scholarly sociological analysis of the "I support the Troops" slogan?
I seems to me that "I support the troops" is code for "I support the troops, but deny all risk/responsibility/knowledge/effort/tax-obligations ... "
Can you imagine anyone in the past...

and after the recent report that the failures of Canadian journalism to create a well-informed electorate (reported at this link) ...
I think this also points out the horrendous lack of war reporting. What scintilla of factual basis for this editorial comes from a British journalist re-run on an American network. We have an hysterical leap from a one paragraph recollection (by the editorialist) of a film that almost no-one...
I never asked for sites.
There is an entire thread on sites, and I could add a lot more.
My goal is an informed Canadian Public.
We spend a billion on CBC, plus strong-arm authority at CRTC, plus NFB, plus Government-Cable Subsidy Fund, plus .... with the intention of an informed Canadian...
Responding to several messages:
My point here to inform the Canadian Public, or at least the Canadian Electorate -- there are lots of good web-sites in Canada as well as other countries, plus scraps of information on foreign networks, etc., but the point is that the Canadian Public and the...
Considering the general disinterest or failure of Canadian journalism to routinely report on Canadian Military activities, I propose the government cut $100 Million per year from the CBC budget, and devote that money to an agency to report on Canadian Military Activities. We will leave the...
