Blackadder,
Thansk for the info, i'll report it to my family doctor the next time I see him.
I did report it to my section commander, but he didn't give me any advice about it.
Hey DAA,
Thanks for the reply. However I wasn't wearing a gas mask for the shoot last weekend. Just BEWs, and FFO.
I'm shooting again in a couple weeks and i'll post an update.
Thanks for the reply.
I can't recall which direction the wind was blowing. Although I don't think that is the problem because I've once had a gas mask full of gas after shooting (ironic I know) and was fine.
I am an infantry soldier so this problem has me really worried.
Recently, on a weekend ex, we had a shoot. I had 5 full mags of .556 and a C7. I was also wearing FFO and my BEWs. To my surprise when I started shooting, my eyes started burning and watering and I had to fight to keep them open...
Hey Haraske,
I started BMQ when I was 16 in 2013 and finished my DP1 Infantry this summer. I was on a weekend BMQ while still doing high school and it was not a problem. Just be sure to plan all your civi errands into the weekends that your home and do all your homework the day that it's given...
Polished clean boots, PT Kit (just in case), writing/ note taking material. Make sure your uniform is inspection ready. You'll probably receive a list of what you should bring every parade anyways but that is what I have to bring.
I think you should apply ASAP. If they give you an offer you can delay your BMQ date if it comes early, my cousin was scheduled to start in summer but got it delayed to October. If your file doesn't get processed in time though then there's nothing you can do. My experience is with the reserves...
You still can. I'm pretty sure the 48th can take part in the basic para courses as well. It's not JUST for the QOR. I saw 48th guys wearing maroon berets too ;)
