There's a fee of something like $10 to $15 to see G Dallaire speak in Winnipeg, this September.

If he's a senator, why do we have to pay to see him speak?  He's appearing at the Base movie theatre.

This is a symptom of the mismanagement of the CF in the 70s and 80s.  PTSD wasn't addressed until a Gen was involved, and now we have to pay to listen to a public servant!  Save the 10 to 15$.  He will talk about Rewanda for 45 min, and then play pretend that a an Arty Officer understands the country's woes and how it is to be a soldier today.

Arty officer's do indeed understand the country's woes, and how it is to be a soldier today. We're all members of the country, and members of the forces, and hell, even members of the Combat Arms. (I am no longer in, by the way) What you meant to say was DALLAIRE could only pretend to understand. And yep, you are absolutely right! Don't confuse arty officers with Dallaire  ;D

Heck, don't ask Belgians to confuse him with a soldier either.

Right, just like the armoured know how to drive tanks.

Sorry, but you sooooooo stepped into that one, I couldn't resist.   :-*
