JOE SAULNIER    3 April 2010

It is with sadness that I advise of the passing of Joe Saulnier on 03April 2010 Joe was born in Memramcook, NB. After his marriage he moved to Dorchester and worked for some time on the railroad.  Joe like so many of us joined the Military in 1958 and was posted to the 8th Canadian Hussars (PL) in Gagetown.  When the Regiment moved to Germany, Joe joined his many friends.  He enjoyed his tour as did the family.  On completion of his tour he returned with the Regiment to Petawawa.  Joe was on the move again in 1965 with A Sqn for a year long tour in Egypt.  Many will remember the helpful smile and the service he gave us in QM Stores.  Joe returned to Petawawa but was on the move again to 12RBC in Valcartier. The family was only there 1 year and Joe and family were back with 8CH.  Joe remained with the Regiment first in stores and then out to Range Control where he finished his career 1990.  Joe retired in the Pembroke area.  Joe has been in failing health for some time and unfortunately had to spend the last five years at Marianhill Home.  Joe passed away at the Pembroke Hospital in his 78 year.  Joe is survived by his wife Patricia, his two sons Norm & Chris.  At Joe's request there was no visitation, cremation has taken place.  Our deepest condolences go out the Saulnier family
