Language Requirements

I am not proficient in English and do not know French. Could you please provide information on whether there are language requirements for joining the military and if there are any programs available to help improve language skills before joining?

On the forces webpage it only lists 3 requirements, with the third being educational:
"Have completed at least Grade 10 or 24 credits of Secondaire IV (in Quebec)."

If you were not educated in Canada and have foreign secondary or post-secondary credentials you will need to get it verified.

You might struggle on the CFAT since it is only available in english or french. You can see some examples online of what to expect and how to prepare.

You need to be proficient in one of the Canada's two official languages, English or French. If there is concern that you aren't, recruiting staff can require an applicant to undergo language testing. There are no military language programs for applicants.
