Interesting article.  I was really surprised at the amount of pro-veteran comments (and lack of anti-military comments) in the article, probably b/c there are people who understand that leadership and management skills are actually applicable to the "real world" as well.

What I found interesting is that the first example of a vet who had trouble finding work was a British Army veteran living in Toronto - paragraph 20 and 21 finally has a former Canadian soldier helping others find work.  I suppose it puts an initial Toronto face on the story, but not exactly a Canadian vet face - 6 out of 10 from the Russian judge for that one, "Canada's National Newspaper".

I also thought it was OK. I did think it was a bit disingenuous to link the redistribution of RegF HQ staff and the reduction of Class B staff to the story. It leaves the impression that 8000 military pers are going to lose their jobs and wind up on the street.

Hey, I was just surprised to find an article and comments that aren't comprised of thinly-veiled threats at CF members as human beings  :D

*I kid, I kid*

Somewhat related to topic.  If anyone is looking for work we have a pile of jobs out here in Lloydminster, AB, SK.  We have 8 pages of help wanted adds and that's just for the people who are bothering to advertise anymore.  If your in good enough shape the service rigs out here are starving for guys and you start off around $25/hr.  With no experience.  Lot's off other jobs starting between $17-25/hr.

Why? That's exactly what the plan envisions. No one will wind up on the street literally, but on civvy street, certainly.

There are a few local companies here that are looking for Military specialist for Subject matter on Aircraft.  Part time/Full-time work for flight engineers, AVN/AVS techs as well as pilots.

if anyone is looking please feel free to private message me and I will forward the contact information.  I am not affiliated with the company in any way and do not stand to gain anything in providing this information.
