hi, i am wondering if anyone remembers a patrick dumond from ontario. he was my grandfather, i believe he past away around 1995, i am not sure though. he apparently frequented the legion when he was healthy. in his last years he was looked after by his daughter patricia.he also had a daughter named beatrice and a son named robert. i would love to hear anything about him personally or about his service. sorry i don't have any additional info. my family isn't close but i am trying to put together a family tree/scrapbook together for my son. thank you for your time.

Hi
The best place to start is here http://www.collectionscanada.ca/genealogy/022-909.007-e.html
this will give you your grandfathers service records.
He has not been died for 20 years so you will need some sort of proof will be needed.
Proof of Death: A copy of a death certificate, newspaper obituary, funeral notice or photograph of the gravestone. Note that proof of death is not required if the individual died while in service
Then if you knew which legion he was a member of you could go down there and speak to anyone on the B.S. table ( all legions have one ) and I'm sure if he was a regular member someone will remember him.
If you had more information maybe we could look in other places.
Hope this helps!
