Thoughts and prayers to the soldiers friends and family.

I was just coming here to post that. Very sad news. The way it reads, sounds like a Winnipeg reservist on a weekend exercise. Jim- here's hoping it's not one of your lads.

My thoughts are with our fallen comrade, and their friends and family.

Thoughts and prayers for the family and friends of the deceased.  :cdnsalute:

This said, and it had to be said, isn't it little weird to release the fact that a "person" died and that a Winnipeg reserve unit was training at the base without making any specific connection between the two, and not identifying the victim as, at the very least, a "soldier"?

I am trying not to read too much between the lines, but it sounds like a civilian was killed and that the accident involves the reserve unit somehow. Driving accident on base?

Just saying it's a weird report.

Multiple unconfirmed reports it was a reservist. Terrible news.

Per the CBC: The reservist was a member of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Regiment of the 38 Canadian Brigade Group, said Lt. Stacie Nelles, a spokesperson for the 38 Canadian Brigade Group.

Thanks for the info. No doubt that The Rifles will support the family to the best of their ability.

Not having a good two weeks.

RIP soldier. :salute:

My thoughts and prayers to family, friends and colleagues of the fallen soldier.

No word thus far on who or the possible cause.

I’ll do my best to keep you updated. I’ve contacted the CO and offered assistance if it’s needed.
