Its actually pretty easy to calculate an approximate designed hull speed. You only need the length of the hull at the waterline. You can throw this into an online hull speed calculator.

You can assume for the purposes of this that the CVN has enough power to reach its max speed without going over its own bow wave which changes the speed equation (like a speedboat does when it gets "up" over its bow wave).

The Enterprise class carrier had a length of 1123 feet, which when you do the math is around 44kts (83km/hr). Ford class carriers are similarly sized so 45kts is likely pretty close to its max hull speed.

So we know it can't go faster than ~45kts without riding its own bow wave. At this point its all about power transfered into the water from the screws.

I don't know the max speed of a CVN, but it's relatively easy for a CVN to outrun its escorts, as its design speed is so high due to its size.
