			In the 1950s this Regiment was affiliated to the Royal 22e Régiment. It was given the designation of 5e Bataillon Royal 22e Régiment.

			Once it was realized by the Fusiliers and it's veterans that they would lose their regimental distinction, a decision was made and the 5 R22R designation was dropped.
