Royal 22e Régiment
Regimental HQ: La Citadelle, Québec QC
Colonel in Chief: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Regimental Birthday: October 21st, (anniversary of the creation of the 22nd Infantry Battalion (French-Canadian) on that date in 1914)
Current Role: Three regular battalions of Infantry, two Reserve.

The Royal 22e Régiment is Canada's third most senior Infantry regiment, and comprises three Regular Force infantry battalions as well as a 4th Battalion and 6th Battalion serving as part of the Land Force Reserve. It is the only Regular Force infantry regiment for that is French.

Armorial Description

A beaver, standing on a log inscribed JE ME SOUVIENS; superimposed on the side of the beaver an annulus inscribed REGIMENT CANADIEN FRANCAIS; within the annulus a shield bearing the old coat of arms of the province of Quebec; superimposed on the annulus below the shield is the Arabic numerals 22; the whole surmounted by the Royal Crown.
