Baltimore Bridge Collapse

Water isn’t significantly deep though. Channel is 45’. IMG_0561.jpeg

Joe said the Federales will pay for it’s replacement
Longer term the insurers will be gone after for it, but getting that shopping channel open and that transportation route reopened will be national imperatives. It’s appropriate for the feds to take a leadership role in getting the ball rolling ASAP, although that will still take ages.

It’s also noted that the two fastest replenishment ships in the USN are trapped in the harbor until the wreckage is cleared.

Honestly given the depth - the removal of the wreckage shouldn’t be a big deal. It just needs to wait till all the bodies are recovered, and whatever investigation that needs to be done of the scene is complete.

Biggest cause of the disaster is the whole reason they all go to Baltimore in the first place, lack of a requirement to use tugs.

Lower standards can create opportunities, they can also show why many places have higher standards.

Two of the Supply class ships ? Those are a beautiful and useful ship... We should get a couple.
