A 3 million dollar cut to NAVRES was the easiest decision that NDHQ and the government could have made.
PSS Esquimalt alone saved about 1-2 million FYI (although many deadbeats were posted there!)
The MCDVs on the West Coast were so poorly managed at MOG 4, that people quit serving on these...
Hope you are in.
NCIOp according to me is the Jack of all trades.
You need comm skills, weather skills, bos'n skills, MARS skills, great thinking skills. One of the best NCM trades for a good critical thinker.
I remember the days when I had the same goals to join as a Reg Force MARS officer when I was 17. Unfortunately, my discriminatory instructors (French speaking, college hating, reserve haters) back in 1998 in St. Jean screwed that all up for me. NAVRES made the best move in history to ditch the...
I would love to see a very hard working Bos'n being granted a BWK ticket or OIC ticket for an Orca class vessel. A CPO2 diver already did it so a PO2 Bos'n should have no problem.
Just a friendly Reminder.
If you are stuck in rank as a NCM (especially due to bad supervisors), the MARS trade always accepts you. You will be your supervisors superior very quickly :).
Just remember Compass to True = Cadet = Add East subtract west.
But in my opinion. I want to see high failure rates in Officer training. The CF should only allow the best of the best to become officers. Any type of Officer training should be very intense since they are the leaders during Wartime.
For whatever reason, Transport Canada wont recognize the superior training that the military gives their members for any civilian BWK qualifications.
My experience with these retards (I mean Transport Canada) has shown that these government rejects do not give a crap about the training that the...
Too bad my ex-career manager did not know that when he told me everything I did 4 years ago and my top student in my QL3 reserve course (in 2004) counts for nothing. In my opinion, a MPRR is about as reliable as a tabloid horoscope.
In my personal opinion, the merit boards spend too little time reviewing each person's file. Thus they may not get an accurate sense of experience of a person. It would be nice if there was some was to incorporate experience into the PER but since one PER only focuses on a single year it is not...
Here are some excellent documents on the CFPAS system.

:salute:
I was hoping to get some feedback on what people think about the current CFPAS system.
My opinion is as follows:
1. CFPAS itself is very good overall and promotes fairness. When applied properly, it is a great system but:
2. A good portion of supervisors (usually the higher ranks) do not or...
