I know that when you apply online, and if you had applied in the past, you cannot access updates for you file. Does anyone know why that is? I am just curious why a first time applicant  can access it but a past applicant can't.

Sure, you can go ahead, pay the fee, and get your medical done by you family doctor, you will still have to have one done through the military. You will still have to have an interview for your occupation, do the medical, and await all of the security clearances.  All of this will take months...
