I just got some dates for BIQ this summer. I was told it was 4-19 July. Isn't that kind of short? Only 2 weeks to learn everything. Is it just me or is this a lot shorter than previous BIQ courses?
Anybody know where to acquire a patrol sling for the C7? Is this something you can buy at a surplus store? I've also heard of some people making a patrol sling using para cord and the original sling it comes with. Can anybody describe how to do this?
Who participated in Ex. Cold Thunder this past weekend? Anybody shoulders, back, feet (just about everything) hurting as much as mine do? I'm not complaining though. It was pretty good training. Can't complain about the weather either.

I was wondering what people's experience's are with gortex boots in cold weather. I heard that they're horrible when you walk on ice-covered surfaces because the tread is virtually non-existent on the bottom of the boot. On the other hand, I heard they're a lot warmer than the normal combat...
I was wondering how cold it needs to be before you find it necessary to bring along the 2nd sleeping bag for winter exercises. Would I need to bring it for a weekend exercise in Meaford for example in February or can most people tough it out?
