Advice for Joining

I am looking into joining either the reserves or regular forces and am wondering what kind of advice you guys can give me in order to be succssful. Im mainly looking into the Reserves! I few questions I have are 1) What is baisc training like? 2) During basic training (throught the summer) how much time off do you get? 3)What is the pay like? 4)Do you have to pay for any expenses while doing Basic training? 5)Any advice you can give me to be succssesful during this time.
