As I'm the coxswain of a sea cadet unit, there was some discussion about possibly pushing the enrolment date back so that I could remain in cadets until the end of the year. I asked the recruiters and they said it was not possible, so I accepted the offer and was prepared to enrol. My cadet commanding officer, however, decided to contact the CO of the recruiting centre and I received an email saying my enrolment was cancelled and replaced with 17 June.
