Hello,

Don’t know if there is another thread on here with similar experience but I’ll post it here as I haven’t found one with a similar name.

I have been awaiting just over 2 months now since 15 APR to hear back from a Doctor form that I submitted for ADHD (which I hear can be a tricky one) before I can be contacted to book the medical. (All of it should be cleared, haven’t been on medication in over 6 years and have no symptoms according to my doctor). Haven’t heard a word from an RMO or any one from medical since submitting it. Tried calling a few times and have left voicemails no response.

Just wondering is this a normal processing time for medical forms? Or should I walk into my CFRC and see If I can get an update?

Thanks,

It's unfortunately an all to familiar thing we hear about on here all the time and I've seen/experienced in one form or other for a number of years. There is indeed a thread about this in one of the recruiting forums. Long story short - there are few people in the RMO to do a large number of files, and the largest number of these files are the ones that need a specialist/FMD form(s) read through analyzed and decision made.

Thanks for the response. So I guess best thing is just to sit back and just await until that phone call/email comes around.

I'd niggle the CFRC periodically, as they'll often have some advanced notice of issues.

Hey, have you heard back yet?
Not yet. Talked to a recruiter again about 2 weeks ago. They told me my file has been sitting stagnant for the past 3 months since I sent it in with no update. Recruiter said it’s either an influx of other applicants or may have been forgotten by the RMO. Medical unit still hasn’t been responding at all, recruiter sent medical an email to contact me. Haven’t heard anything since. Was also told to try and contact my file manager as they can have some say in getting the process sped up from what I have been told. Going to try and get in contact to see if they can do anything. Might also give the recruiters a call again this week and see if there’s an update at all.

After reaching out to a file manager was able to get the medical booked.

Hey, any update on your application with ADHD? I’m in the same boat.
Hey, I'm currently on the competitive list atm waiting on a job offer. ADHD is a bit of tricky one for medical files. For me what they were looking for is if I was actively requiring medication to treat any symptoms of ADHD or If I had any significant symptoms which my doctor had indicated none and have not been on medication in 6 years. My file was approved. Medical files depend on applicant to applicant. I definitely was scared by it at the start hearing that ADHD could and can be a disqualifying condition. Best thing and what you'll hear a lot on here referring to medical files is to stick it out with the process. Cause it will depend on your case with ADHD and the RMO's decision. Best of luck! If there is anything I can also try to answer do reply.

I kinda babbled into the medical form part of it. For ADHD in gen do try and reach out to Medical when possible. And then other than that just be honest with them on everything of course and just go with the process.
