I'm primarily a holder. Most of my holdings are in funds but I do also have a portfolio of my own stocks that I own for fun. I use a Value Investing Strategy for that part of my portfolio.

Buying and holding is a nice strategy, provided you can weather the storm, maintain steady employment, etc.

Ideally, you buy low and sell high but it's impossible to predict exactly when that point is.

Unforeseen Extraordinary Events can have devastating consequences on individuals though.
