I recently finished the book "Tested Mettle", which was an evaluation of
the state of the Cnd. Mil
I was wondering if anyone else has read this book, and what is a
Canadian soldiers evaluation of the book. There was an interesting idea
about the formation of a Canadian Legion, I believe it was a best-of
-the -best, 5000 man that was cross trained with a good number being
Airborne Qualified. Would something like this work?
It is depressing to hear avout more slashes in budget, training, equip,
and manpower. I hope that those of you who serve this country in the
Military know that not all of the public has a negative opinion of you,
the soldiers. There are a lot of us that are proud of you, and who are
pulling for you. I pray the situation gets better. I wonder what it
will take?

Thought that chapter was the weakest part of a weak book.
They started out by discussing an interesting and much-discussed problem -
how to take advantage of the merits of the British regimental system while
managing its flaws - but came out with what I thought was the flakiest
answer yet. Sensible reform builds on tradition.
