I do not know if this is the right place for CT. Anyhow, I need an answer from everybody. This is the scenario ( the dates are fictional) , I am currently Res Class A; 1) Tuesday 4 sept:  I have been offer Res Class B position for 3 yrs departing next Wednesday 12 sept for a 30 days trial and 2) Thursday 6 sept: I went to recruiting and applied for a CT. My questions are: What will happen? Should I tell my future boss that I applied for CT? Can they cancel the contract after that 30 days trial? Can I stop the CT? Should I continue with the CT? Tell me what should I do? I am new to the CF 1year (officer); therefore, no experience with administration. I have not signed the contract yet, I will be signing it on Tuesday 11 sept. Any response will be appreciated.

Thanks

Could you clarify your post.  September 11th was last week.

The dates are fictional because it is happening right now and I do not want the people currently working on my case seeing that it is me

The first thing the CFRC/Det will do when they receive your application package is ask for your pers file and your med file - which will give your Chain of Command the info that you have asked for a CT.

Obviously I don't know what your employer will do - they may keep you on in the belief that the Recruiting  system will take a while to get you through to the Reg F.  How long it will  take for Recruiting to transfer you depends on a lot of things, especially the occupation you are moving to, if it is different from you current occupation, how much training and experience you have, and how quickly the responsible agencies come back with a response when the CFRC/Det goes out for a PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment Review).

Cool. I am transfering same trade and the training is the same. So, you are saying the process may take longer than 30 days. Should I tell my boss that I have a CT in process?

I don't have the information needed to say how long the CT will take.  If everything goes through the way the powers hat be want it to be done you could have an offer in 3-4 weeks.  That depends on the CFRC/Det, how soon they can get to your file, and your occupation.  If it is an occupation with all training spots filled, you may not get an offer until next April.

Its your personal decision as to telling your new boss or not.  I don't know him or her, so can't say how they will react.  That in part depends on how many other suitable people applied for the job - if you are the only person that applied for the Cl B opportunity, then they would have to re-advertise, which normally takes 30 days.  If there were several people applying for the job, then they may just cancel your offer and give an offer to the next person on the list.  It's not supposed to happen that way, and there is some higher level supervision of the process, but sometimes these things can happen.

If you have just put in your CT application it is far from a done deal.  If the assessment is that you are skilled, then there will be some discussion with you as to when and where to post you.  If the assessment requires some training, then there may be some discussion as to when to transfer you.  My preference is to transfer individuals as close to the training start date as possible - but in many cases the CFRC is not the final decision maker on this issue.

Good luck.
