hunters safety and firearms license questions

so i've been thinking about getting my hunters safety and firearms license. a friend of mine from back home (saskatchewan) wants to help me with it, however i am living in alberta now. can i still get my hunters safety and firearms license in the province i joined the military in?

Your firearms PAL is a federal license, doesn't matter what province you get it in.

what about hunters safety? do need it for a firearms PAL?

No, your PAL is a Possession and Acquisition License, and it's what you need to buy guns and ammo.  A Hunters Safety Course is what you need to get a (provincial) hunting license.  You can buy and own firearms without being a hunter.

AFAIK you can do hunters safety first, but in Ontario to obtain a H2 card (hunting with firearms) you need to provide proof of completing the Non-restricted firearms safety course.
