This is a post in the memory of Pte Andrew Johnson of B Coy, 1 RCR who was tragically killed on 26 Jan 04 in a vehicle accident while on his leave in South Africa during deployment to Bosnia.

Andy was a great soldier and even better friend to all of Bravo and everyone he served with. He will be missed, but never forgotten...

I didn‘t know him...didn‘t meet him. He was in Drvar...I‘m in Zgon.

He was serving in the same Battle Group as I am in Bosnia.

During our memorial service here I felt as if I lost a good buddy that I knew forever. Felt a lump in my throat build for this man...even a tear...

My condolences to this soldiers family and to all the troops in B coy Drvar, and to everyone who knew Andrew.

Sad to see a young man struck down before his life really starts....

My deepest simpathies

A fellow soldier

Rest In Peace, and God Bless
My deepest sympathies to friends, family and comrades. :salute:

I‘d like to personally thank everyone on this thread that posted on behalf of Andy, it means a lot to me and I‘m sure to everyone else in Bravo Company. I‘d also like to acknowledge the members from the Royal Canadian Dragoons who fired out Pte Johnson during the service in Markham. Well Done. Losing someone you work with so closely is an extremely hard thing to grasp, which I‘m sure most of you are very familiar with and every bit of support helps immensely.

Pro Patria!
