Folks,
Normally, I am quite pleased with the list traffic in general, and with the fact that I don‘t have to monitor it too closely. Recently, as I‘m sure you‘re aware, things have come apart at the seams.
I hate to sound like an ogre, but I do have the capability of blocking people from the list, and I will start invoking that ability if we continue down this path. You know who you are, and I‘m not simply targeting an individual.
I believe that we all have something to contribute to the list, but please, let‘s keep it topical, truthful and professional. Refer to Mike OLeary‘s list rules for a refresher.
I expect this to be the last posting on the matter.
Thank-you for your co-operation, and my apologies to everyone who had to watch from the sidelines.

Thanks, Mr Bobitt. May I suggest, with no slam meant to the people on the
list I, too, participated in the Burgess hunt that we have a set procedure
for dealing with suspected goofballs? If someone is not holding themselves
to the code of conduct we expect, we should merely contact the List
Administrator with a complaint. If Mr Bobbitt et al? don‘t handle it the
way we want, we‘re all free to leave. In my opinion, this atmosphere, though
understandable, is going to create a situation where eventually, someone
innocent is going to mistakenly get jumped on. Just a few thoughts.

Hello Mr. Bobbitt
May I offer my apologies for my losing my temper on the List last night?
It is likely not just me, but that is beside the point. I quite plainly
behaved unacceptably, in spite of the reasons I have or may feel I have.
I believe I now have my super-charged temper under control, even if the
reasons for it are a little more challenging. I plan to stay off the
response key for a few weeks.
I thank you for your discretion in dealing with this.
Respectfully
John Gow
