Security clearance during application

Hello, I am currently awaiting medical reviews which I expect to go through for Int. Operator. I was told after that there is another security clearance that I have to pass. I have been told the reliability screening was already complete. I am a Canadian citizen and don’t really leave the country.

The recruitment centre didn’t give me any details. Does anyone know which type of clearance it is, and potentially how long it could take?

I’ve been skimming through some threads on here mentioning that some clearances can take up to two years, or sometimes they will start the BMQ process while a clearance is processing. Could this be what I am looking at?

Any info at all would be much appreciated.

You need higher clearances to be able to do your job, and much like SigInt Spec you will likely be completing the paperwork either during BMQ or immediately on arrival for CFSMI (Int School). They will have work for you to do, and if I remember correctly they have phased in training so you can start once you're beyond Reliability clearance.

To save yourself the time, start gathering every address you've lived at (not temporary stuff like a vacation), employers addresses and contact numbers going back 10 years. You will also need immediate family members addresses and contact information. The more accurate your information, the easier your file is to process especially if you haven't lived abroad other than a vacation type trip.
