We got 20 cm in Halifax, schools were closed, malls shut down early, rec programs cancelled. I looked at the webcam of the Armdale Rotary at rush hour and it looked like the middle of the night - 4 cars and a bus in the circle when I looked. Halifax took it in stride, but then, we aren't whiners!

Sunny in Campbell River BC!  What is this snow thing you describe? I just did the Sunshine Coast trip with the kids, we had great weather..  Highlights, looking for a yacht, going to Molly's Reach in Gibsons Landing. Low...  Vancouver traffic... I feel so sorry for city folk. Snow....  shudder...  horrid stuff, as useful as a housecat!

It hasn't been called Gibson's Landing since 1983, and hardly ever was by anyone in the know.

Snow is no longer the issue now, it's the ice. Busted up my knee this morning walking to the bus stop, the sidewalks are insanely icy in Orleans. One would think we would be able to afford a little more road salt with all the taxes we pay.

I've called 311 several times, hopefully they put some effort in deicing before the morning. Saw several elderly people take a tumble on my street and I am more worried about them than my self if anything.

I live just down the street from the salting station at Herongate.. and I swear I haven't seen near as many trucks go out this year as there usually is with this much snow.

Interesting.  I didn't know that, but in fairness, when I googled Gibsons Landing I got http://www.gibsonslandingbc.com/  It appears the town is still marketed as such.  Nice spot.  I should have overnighted there and took in more sights. Never got past the boats and marinas in the time I had.
