The difference between Trump’s Cabinet officials and Musk’s DOGE team is that the former is, at least in theory, acting on authority vested in them by the Senate and accountable to the branch that confirmed them; the latter is extralegal, accountable to no one, and seemingly operating on the whims of one man, who is convinced of his own brilliance and superior judgment even as he admits he “accidentally canceled, very briefly” an Ebola prevention initiative as part of his decimation of USAID.
“I think we all want Ebola prevention, so we restored Ebola prevention immediately,” Musk told the Cabinet Wednesday, “and there was no interruption”—something officials at the hollowed-out agency have said is not true. “There have been no efforts to ‘turn on’ anything in prevention,” Nidhi Bouri, who served as a top USAID official during the Biden administration, told the Washington Post.
This confluence of incompetence, corruption, and unaccountability is a civic outrage and a grave hazard to the public welfare—and if any Republicans are “unhappy with Elon,” unhappy with any of this, they need to do more than wring their hands and murmur about it behind closed doors.

The administration has about a year before mid-term election campaigning begins, and probably has to put up with at least either the House or Senate under Democratic control after that.
They know that most of their initiatives will be challenged in courts, that initially a lot of them will be stayed, and that it will take time for the merits to be heard and final decisions to be issued.
They are setting processes in motion. They've had years of talking among themselves about what to do and how to do it. It's unlikely they're just willy-nilly throwing stuff out there.

I'll stop short of saying Canadians deserve unemployment and a low CAD. Canadians kept Liberals in power for 10 years and being this weak (and ripe to be bullied) is a result of Canadians voting behavior. And Canadians are right back at it with Carney. If anything Trump is teaching us a very hard lesson.
The sheer idiocy of that video is a good start. I've watched it a few times and each time it pisses me off more. I think the poor people of Ukraine are fucked now. I thought the Americans, and Trump, had legitimate reasons to question US involvement in Ukraine. I still do. Trumps cocaine bull in a China shop approach to being president was entertaining. Now it's sobering. He's an incredibly powerful man child and it's probably going to get a lot people killed, not just in Ukraine.

One of the worst parts of that interview is where Zelenskyy is sitting with Trump and 20 guys in suits milling around and some idiot is trying to grill Zelenskyy about why he "never wears suits". Like they're seriously trying to busy his balls for not wearing suits.
If Trump has any sense of being a man he would have turned around and told the guy to shut the fuck up.

i think Trump did actually address the suit thing in a positive manner it was just overshadowed by the rest of the BS.
I do wonder if Zelensky showed up in a suit and tie if it would have been any difference
