Ontario Election: Four-in-five, including a majority of PC voters, say election called to serve Ford’s interests -
Health care, cost of living loom much larger than Trump in Ontarians’ priorities February 7, 2025 – After meeting with the nation’s provincial leaders and the prime minister on Jan. 15, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said that it was time to put Canada first, even ahead of provincial interests, in...angusreid.org

Ontario Liberal leader’s campaign bus using ‘incorrect’ number for people who died while on surgery waitlists
The Liberals' bus says '11,000 people died waiting for surgery last year,' but Ontario Health data obtained by The Trillium shows the number is much smallerwww.thetrillium.ca
“We've stopped using the number, and I guess we'll have to apologize for using an incorrect number there,” said [OCHA-CUPE President] Hurley, pointing to a Feb. 3 post from SecondStreet.org, which describes itself as a think tank that uses “storytelling as a way to discuss public policy issues.”
Would have been smarter just saying, "Hey, we f@#$%^&*()ed up with the total, including other deaths." Don't think it'll hurt the overall campaign much, but hard lesson learned by the Red Comms Team re: whose #'s they trust. This, also, from a party leader with some political experience, too. And the clock is ticking fast on these Ontario campaigns. So folks only begrudgingly walk back inaccurate/dishonest figures in their “storytelling” when they’re called in them…
Provincial and city officials estimate the highway upload will save Toronto at least $2 billion over a decade, but that could rise to $6.5 billion after further study. During the ownership transition period, Queen’s Park will give the city $7 million in operating funds and $198 million for highway capital costs.
Ford had previously shot down requests to take over the costly highways,
“Anyone thinks I want the DVP and the Gardiner, I don’t,” said Ford, a former city councillor who described the highways as “an 800-pound gorilla on your back” for the municipality.
As Kingston is still at the mercy of overpriced VIA for commuting to Ottawa or Toronto, its a "meh" from me.Doug is promising GO Train improvements. If you vote for him.
Another issue Ontario voters may, or may not, wish to consider in the upcoming provincial election is Ontario assuming the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway from Toronto.
Whoever owns the roads, there is a lot of revenue involved for "vehicle incidents" in Toronto. Including the provincial QEW and 400-series highways that TFS responds to.
TFS bills non-city residents $559.86 per Fire Vehicle dispatched to vehicle incidents for the first hour. Each additional half-hour $279.93

Unifor local 1285 has come out supporting Doug Ford,.....Syd Ryan is having a breakdown.
Hell hath frozen over. Can we now smite those who would destroy us?Unifor local 1285 has come out supporting Doug Ford,.....Syd Ryan is having a breakdown.
I don’t particularly like Ford but think he’s far better to deal with the Trump threat than the leaders of the Liberals or NDP.He’s what we need to take on Trump.
They're barely delivering on GO 1.0.Doug is promising GO Train improvements. If you vote for him.

I doubt municipal service (fire department) billing is a big money maker. The rate is set by the MTO and is intended as cost recovery and it's the same if it is Toronto Fire or Podunk Twp. It an insured service. The MTO pays the municipality then invoices the involved parties. The involved parties send the invoice to their insurance company.
