British Military Current Events

The article mentions that this turret was supposed to be for Strykers, yet here it is on what appears to be an M113 or a really pimped out FV432...almost looks like those Australian 113's Fire Support Vehicles with the Scorpion/Cougar turret and 76mm gun.

Ummmm, what? That BAE remote weapon station on a Bradley chasis looks very different than the old Aussie contraption

Looks like an M113 with a butt load of add on armour and smoke dischargers...and there is this little quote in the article "The five variants currently in production provide enhanced survivability and performance over the legacy M113 FoV." The thing though is that BAE is British - FV432 would make a bit of sense since they had smoke dischargers where most M113 variants I've ridden around in didn't, save for the TUA's...but the driver's hatch is on the wrong side of the vehicle.

I was just thinking, 'drop the turret on a 432, they'll get another 50 years out of it' and you post this :D

:)

Actually been inside one of those with the Saladin turret. It has the full turret basket resting on support/slip ring device. Other than a ammo rack, pretty stock M113 inside.
