What did she say to threaten the country?
Using Alberta oil to strike back at Trump and the USA would call into question Alberta's future in the Canadian confederation.
What did she say to threaten the country?
It doesn't have to be binary, though. And as you're seeing with some of the comments, to use a phrase sometimes used in the military, it's interesting to see her triage regarding loyalty up and loyalty down here. Can't blame her for pushing hard for her own team, but are there ways to do that without causing problems for the league? Why does her concern have to be Canadian unity ?
Her first concern should be her people and their prosperity. I don't think she wants Albertans or their economy used as pawns by Eastern Canada. I think its fair play.

i thought you were a country before self kind of guy. Should I strike that from your past postings on that? Why does her concern have to be Canadian unity ?
Nothing wrong with that. But she doesn’t have to air out for our adversaries to take advantage of. That’s what she did.Her first concern should be her people and their prosperity. I don't think she wants Albertans or their economy used as pawns by Eastern Canada. I think it’s fair play.
And vice versa.I mean how awesome has the rest of Canada been to Alberta ?
doesn’t justify being anti Canadian.I don't fault the underlying bitterness coming from the west. A good chunk of Canada's economy and many of our provinces depend on what Alberta produces, and I think Canada would be wise to remember that.
It certainly did to get where it is. But hey let’s conveniently forget that.I tend to believe Canada needs Alberta, but Alberta doesn't need Canada.
Well said.It doesn't have to be binary, though. I’m not knocking her for trying to appeal to trump or look out out for her province but her way of doing it doesn’t help.
And vice versa.

None of that justifies sabotaging (intentionally or not) your own side.Again, she's Alberta first; I can appreciate why feels that way.
Hey, its Canada's job to show Alberta why is valuable to the rest of the country. Alberta is certainly contributing its fair share.
Fail to do that and this is where it gets you.
I want want Canada to make it through this, with Alberta. But I also think this has shown some real weaknesses in our unity and we need to work on that.

Welcome to modern Canadian politics . Where nothing outside your riding ,your province and or the Country could possibly be all that important.
Just ignore the world it will go away eventually.
It is.That's your opinion, I see it differently.

Again they didn’t single out just Alberta now did they. They are wielding their cards and letting the US know what tools we have.Except that "her own team" publicly bandied the prospect of shutting down energy exports from her province. (Trudeau and Ford). And Trudeau already has form on wanting to shut down that industry. Trump could give Trudeau a great opening to do just that. Guilbeault would be very happy.

To quote Ford “when you play poker and you have aces you don’t tell your opponent what you have”. Even our other separatist premier gets it. Alberta’s should understand that as well.
Recall Ottawa saying energy’s on the table, and Ford saying electricity (also a type of energy) on the table, but don’t recall Ford throwing AB under the bus. I stand to be corrected, though.Except that "her own team" publicly bandied the prospect of shutting down energy exports from her province. (Trudeau and Ford).
Trump would be happy to see the end of Canada’s oil industry? Interesting read…And Trudeau already has form on wanting to shut down that industry. Trump could give Trudeau a great opening to do just that. Guilbeault would be very happy.
No one has. But the butt hurt wexiters are hearing what they want to hear.Recall Ottawa saying energy’s on the table, and Ford saying electricity (also a type of energy) on the table, but don’t recall Ford throwing AB under the bus. I stand to be corrected, though.
Plenty of interest groups in the US would. Remember who cancelled that pipeline. It wasn’t Canada.Trump would be happy to see the end of Canada’s oil industry? Interesting read…
