"I promised myself that as long as the situation in Afghanistan persists, I would never come to Canada without thanking you for your participation through NATO in the effort to save a genuine moderate, pro-western democracy," he said. "I am grateful."

Canada is "doing a good thing," Clinton said.

If this the way things are,
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2006/11/10/dean-liberals.html

Liberal party national director Steven MacKinnon said the Liberals have a strong affinity with the Democrats, who are savouring a victory this week after the U.S. mid-term elections...

why are Liberals not eagerly agreeing with what

the former president keeps repeating in his speeches in Canada?
http://www.damianpenny.com/archived/008100.html

Former U.S. president Bill Clinton is thankful for the Canadian troops in Afghanistan but said, despite the mounting deaths, even more troops are needed.

"I am grateful," Clinton, the 42nd American president, said yesterday in Victoria before more than 5,000 people at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.

"I know it is painful for you when you lose your soldiers there, but you are doing a good thing."..

I think the previous expression was "fellow travellers"  >:D

Come on Democrats......Liberals  ;)

I'm too young to remember his presidency that well, but looking back it seems like Clinton was a very smart and hard working leader.  I get the impression that he truly cared about his country above all else.

And as for the Liberals, the party is really difficult to categorize because they seem to swing a fair bit between the right and the left depending on their leader.  Even recently Chretian could have been an NDP while Martin could have been a Conservative.  In the leadership race now, I think you will see a drastically different party if Ignatieff is to win, than if Dion or Ray were to win.

I wouldn't say ALL else..  ;D

i cant stand bill clinton. the only reason he's praising us is because we.re doing what he never had the guts to do. he could have stopped 9/11 from happening by taking out al qaeda when they declared war on the states in his presidency. he didnt do enough. i like how he supports us now but we wouldnt have to be there if it wasent for him.

Burke,
