I had the opportunity to work with Hugh Segal in the mid-1980s on a number of projects. On those occasions I found him to be very articulate, quite likeable and extremely brilliant. Even when I disagreed with him on certain things, I always had the utmost respect for him. In addition he was a longtime supporter of a stronger Canadian military, particularly the RCN. He very much loved being a Canadian. Rest in Peace, Hugh Segal.

A good man and a friend of the Navy. Fair winds Hugh.
