Trump admires the oligarch utopia that Putin established in Russia. He is pro-authoritarian, and he has brought the US into alliance with Russia. That is why he is waging economic war against democracies. That is why he will not just drop sanctions but initiate preferential trade with Russia.

No, an alliance generally entails mutual benefit and some degree of reciprocity founded on a certain amount of good will. I don’t think any of us truly have a bead on what’s going on here between Trump and Putin, but it doesn’t smell right at all.
He’ll say nothing so direct. I would not be surprised if Zelenskyy is now in much more personal physical danger from Russia than he was a week ago.

I wouldn’t be surprised if China invades much sooner. Idiot Trump’s threats to take Greenland and the Panama Canal by force has all but legitimized China invading Taiwan or Russia’s current invasion of Ukraine.
