RMC admissions medical questionnaire

I am counseling a few high school kids who want to apply to RMC. Due to Covid lockdowns, and lack of access to care , we counselors saw a high growth in anxiety and depression in the age cohort that is now applying to post secondary. This is not an issue for Universities generally but I don't know what to advise students concerning RMC. It may be wise to not go through the entire process only to be eliminated because of that. These are functioning, well-performing kids. So what is on the medical questionnaire? Does taking certain medications exclude them from admission?

yes, certain medications will exclude them from admission. Medical questionnaire asks a lot of questions. I suggest starting here to research and then contact your local recruiting centre Home | Canadian Armed Forces

I found information on chronic physical conditions that exclude but nothing about mental health. For serving pilots I have found a list giving certain medications that they can be prescribed so it looks like some are ok. But do we know which medications exclude kids from RMC? Is there a list somewhere or can someone share this information? Or does someone have a copy of the medical questionnaire they can share? I wrote to the recruitment office and they are not replying.

The important thing to realize is that these are not requirements for RMC but for joining the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). It is also not just a medical questionnaire but a full medical along with potentially additional forms for a GP or specialist to fill out. The Reddit/CanadianForces page has a decent FAQ on the medical requirements along with appropriate links to policy:

Best bit of advice to them is to answer the questions truthfully - if there are concerns/red flags during the medical interview and exam, they'll be provided with forms their GP and/or specialists (depending on condition) will need to fill out in order for their application to proceed. As noted, this isn't an "RMC" medical questionnaire - it's for enrolment in the Canadian Armed Forces.
