I understand you have to be MOC qualified to apply to be a sar tech but can you transfer from the reserves to a SAR tech? Thanks

The trade currently has too many members. As a remedy the trade announced that the direct entry and component transfer programs were being put on hold and the course sizes were to be drastically reduced. This was two years ago and I am not entirely sure where that stands today. However, the course sizes are still extremely small with as little as six being loaded next year.

According to the 13/14 SIP (current to 1 May) , the only intake for SAR Tech is 9 spots, all internal (aka COTP/remuster).
