In 2020 Biden had 81 Million votes, Trump had 74 Million votes.
In 2024 Harris got 66 Million votes, Trump got 71 million votes.
15 Million Democrats decided to sit this one out?
3 Million MAGA Republicans decided to sit this one out?

In case this was directed at me, I stand by my assertion.

However, to be clear, my assertion is that those Americans I consider to be part of the "MAGA" movement are what I consider fascist, not every Republican, and certainly not everyone who voted for Trump.

Thats another factor in their loss. Trump, MAGAs and Republicans are not fascists.

My guy, I feel you. Its a tough day. I imagine you have 1 more of these coming with our own election.

But don't fret, there is always another election.

I’m past the “wtf” stage. It’s the “what now” stage.

My concerns are how Canada, and the rest of the world, deal with the next admins’ foreign policies. For example, Trump has been talking tariffs for a couple of weeks now - I would bet that that would include higher tariffs on Canadian imports.

Then there’s NATO, NORAD, USMCA… He already thinks that the US shoulders too much burden, and has signalled a willingness to pull out of NATO. Will he do the same with NORAD? What happens if the Conservatives win, look at the books, and decide that nah, we’re not going to go to 2%? When was the last time Canada did spend 2% of GDP on Defence?

I think Trump will say “spend 2% or more, or we leave NATO and NORAD”. Based on history, I am not convinced that a Conservative govt will just jump at that. I would like to be wrong and that the CPC actually follows through with their promise, but I’m not willing to put money on it.

I dread to think what all of this means for Ukraine as well as many of the other Eastern European countries. With Trump being subservient to Putin, the Russian Bear is about to become the Monster of Europe.

Then that's a choice a future Gov will have to make. Imagine having to be responsible for our own defence! Crazy Idea I know. I'm also ok with all the cuts required in social spending to rebuild our defence. Or dont and just become a vassal 3rd world petro state. Canada, you decide.

I'm ok with this. I don't know why the US has stuck with an alliance that they don't need that's made up of countries who will insult them and criticism them carte blanche and then expect them to carry the lions share of there defence.

Both of those presidents had Russian aggression in Ukraine on their watch.

During 45's term, Russia did not touch Ukraine.

Uh, Russia didn’t just go into Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk in 2014 and withdraw until 2022. They were there the entire time.

So yes, Russia did touch Ukraine during the whole of 45’s term.

I'm not ruling out election fraud. In fact, given all the variables (no ID, mass migration, mail-in, electronic tabulating, etc) I believe it is a certainty. The only question is to what extent. This time differs from the last...The pandemic, there were many more eyes on it now then before, and the result was too big to rig. Again, coming back to how the worst possible candidate (by her own party's approval ratings) even got that many votes, to me that is questionable. The media/DNC machine painted a picture that wasn't there.

Ballot counting is not complete. Despite the media obsession with declaring victory in time for the 11 o'clock news, counting millions of ballots takes a long time.

Lawyers .. . . think of the Lawyers. They were counting on all those lawsuits across the country to fight the poll results.

Maybe this Trump win will free up the courts to get some real important work done.
