The best mess WAS always the mess under canvas (when we were allowed to drink in the field); almost anything went, and watched almost anything on the tube with the VCR propted up on a 6 foot table playing chase the ace, poker, pepper, etc with our FOA  :blotto: as long as you were good to go at zero dark thirty

ive been to messes in: Petawawa, Connaught, kingston,Borden(worked in them also), Trenton,Blackdown (Cadet camp).

the best one i would say is Petawawa's Normandy court. Kingston and Connaught make the worst on my list.
