Making copies of your computer software

I've had a private chat with Springroll and we've worked out any misunderstandings.

She is not running a pirated operating system, nor does she copy programs or music inappropriately. I have apologized to her privately and now publically for the record

On a similar note, I have a mini-disk player that I can download song to.  The program that came with it will go online and register whenever I transfer a tune from CD to the disk, and limits the amount of times this can be done, based on the copyright laws for that particular CD -- eg, SOCAN related stuff can only be copied once.
