MIR Christmas

Hi, I'm just wondering when the MIR actually has staff again so that i can get a boot chit... I'm on leave in toronto and i want to go to the Res. base here or in Borden...because the CO in gagetown doesn't let the MIR give out any. I called the bluecross line and they never call me back. Does anyone have any ideas? thanks

You are circumventing your Chain of Command in this matter.  A very, very BAD thing for a Pte (R) to be doing, and sure to get a Pte (R) into a shitload of trouble.

You would not be able to get a chit for your boots even if you did go to CFB Borden on your leave from CFB Gagetown.   It is not a simple matter of asking a medic to write a chit, it is a matter of making appointments with a Specialist to determine what is the problem and remedy for your foot problem.

Another point:  Blue cross does not deal with Chronic problems such as this one. Its only for emergencies.

Further to that,

There is no such thing as a Res. base.

Furtermore a C.O can not arbitrarily make a command descision to deny any form of treatment,  such as in banning people getting chits for boots, than can help a medical condition. Specifically if it is a treament, recognized by the system, to help treat such associated medical condition/injury/ailment. 

Methinks, there is more to this than meets the eye....
