- I'll bet you a dozen doughnuts that even though it's a GST rebate, come tax time it'll still be considered income & be taxed.

- If they REALLY wanted to help make things more affordable, they'd cancel the planned carbon tax increase. (The 4th since it became a thing)
The carbon tax increases the cost of fuel, which has a DIRECT impact on the cost of the very things they want to suspend the GST on...he could skip doing that & just not increase the cost of EVERYTHING in the first place...
It's also a huge pain in the ass for retailers to have to go find product & product code, print new stickers, and reprogram their checkout machines to not charge GST on THOSE SPECIFIC ITEMS but to continue charging GST for everything else. And then have to reverse it just 2 months later.
Stop increasing the carbon tax if they won't eliminate it altogether. Stop allowing your MP's to funnel money to themselves through one bullshit scheme or another. Stop spending money on programs that don't actually do anything (gun buyback has spent $75M on buying back 0 guns), stop sending our money to foreign governments ruled by warlords or tyrannical regimes, and stop trying to buy people's votes with their own money ffs (to the tune of approx $5B that won't be going into government coffers)

Liberals will always support the brand, even if the brand is sinking to the bottom of the Atlantic. The Liberals struck the iceberg years ago. We all know the NDP are crazy, but we expected the liberals to atleast tread water down the middle somewhere.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Thursday that his government plans to temporarily lift the federal sales tax on a range of items.
So a greater certainty of a 25 basis point cut in December rather than a potential 50 point cut that markets only saw a 1 in 4 chance of happening anyway... Ok? That’s not exactly earth shattering. A brief two month hiatus on GST/HST on some items that then expires isn’t going to be a prolonged buoy on interest rates. They just may decrease slightly slower. Inflation is continuing to cool.
