Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

I like Wab Kinew. He seems like the kind of politician that can read a room, offer more than a party line, and shift his opinion based on new information.

Its bloody refreshing.
If he’s still the premier next election and the PCs stay in character and run someone with the personality and brains of a fish, I might vote NDP provincially for the first time.

So with Freeland gone, the government lost their only competent minister. Mind you, when I say “competent”, don’t confuse that with “charismatic”: she’s a terrible retail politician, who manages to sound like a condescending kindergarten teacher, even when she’s talking to smart people. She’s the opposite of Trudeau in many ways. I’m surprised she lasted this long.

I did not have "Freeland quits" on my WTF bingo card today.

She was condescending, self righteous, and annoying and spoke to people like they were all two years old. I'm glad she's gone. I notice she pretty much set the PM on fire on the way out.

I’ll give her her dues…I think she’s one of the few people in the who “gets it” on the current global situation. She told Trudeau to fire McCallum and Dion over their overtly sympathetic attitudes towards China and Russia respectively or she would quit. And she’s the one who made the government get serious on sanctions on Russia over their invasion of Ukraine.

But yeah, I’m not sad to see her go. I enjoyed her throwing the match behind her as she calmly left the gas-soaked house…

Anand is competent.

Whether its Trudeau or PP as PM, spending 2% GDP on Defence will not be an option. I think Trump can really turn up the heat on Canada WAY beyond 25% tarifs if he needs to. It could get really ugly. And Trump won't break a sweat.

Trudeau spending 2% GDP on DND means
-Tons of more money on DEI for ARmed Forces members
-Tons of money spent on studying "hate" i the CAF
-Tons of money spent on deploying the CAF in "Climate emergencies", he will make a Climate Response Unit
-Tons of money spent using soldiers to gather up scary guns from hunters, farmers and sportsmen
-Tons of money spent on advertising CAF recruiting for DEI targets

Trudeau list could go on and on

PP, I think would focus on stuff like ships, aircraft, guns, drones, etc. if he spends 2% GDP

The premiers are all now on record calling for the government to meet the NATO standard - per Wab Kinew et al.

Except the wild card. This is a very unstable minority Liberal government. Its the political wild west these days in Ottawa. It may not be the NDP, but I wouldn't discount the Liberals themselves from forcing an election to get Trudeau out.
This is the most unstable government and PM I have ever seen in this country.

When I say the PM is unstable - he has been for some time.

They should have ejected him months ago.
seats ejection GIF

lol, now he comes out? What about last month, last year, 3 yrs ago?
A bit too late and a loonie too short.
really? as I recall, 3 years ago there was no indication that the libs would anti up so there was no 2% promise to support
