Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre, whom polls say is the odds-on favorite to win the upcoming election, previously said Canada would “never” be a US state.

Asked about those comments on Tuesday, Trump said: “Then maybe he won’t win. But maybe he will. Listen, I don’t care what he says.”

Poilievre reiterated his comments in social media posts later on Tuesday, and emphasized Canada’s support of US security, its supply of cheap energy, and its consumption of American products, adding that the “weak and pathetic” government had “failed to make these obvious points.”

The article brings up a good point - the US isn’t…uh…united on this front. Even if Trump directed the annexation of Canada, it could cause huge turmoil in the US before any forces cross the border.

Wow! I posted something on Army.ca and I was right! (post 1191)

So his original assertion that he "had to cancel a refugee eligibility hearing with Canadian authorities for an undisclosed reason" and that he "has been waiting for assurances that he won’t be detained and deported back to the U.S. as a result of skipping out on his prison sentence". was bull crap. He knew there was an immigration warrant out for him and wasn't going anywhere near a CBSA office.
