Ed Broadbent, R.I.P.

It was announced today that former NDP leader Ed Broadbent has died. While I must say that I’ve never voted for the NDP nor would I want to ever see them elected, I do feel that Broadbent himself had an integrity that is sadly lacking in today’s jaded political atmosphere. If only the Liberals and Conservatives had men of his calibre.

I miss NDP having guys like this, Layton and Christopherson as key people, but I guess that predates the current trend of identity politics which has taken over all the parties.
