Good. I’m not trying to change what you think or how you think. But it only demonstrated your lack of respect for people making their own democratic choices.

I respect your choices. I won’t bemoan or characterize YOUR democratic choice for whatever reason you decide.

No one here though needs lecturing by you on how they vote. If they vote Trudeau then so be it but you don’t get to characterize that as moronic or lacking integrity.

I’m sure you would be thrilled if someone said a you voting for PP makes you either a moron or a racist. But that would just be plain polarized and idiotic right? Are you one of those? I wouldn’t think so and no one here as done that. But you have.

Oh calm down sugar! I have a whole list of people I always read and listen to what they say, but usually find I can't agree with their opinions. Your pretty much on that list. @Remius and @brihard have said some things I agree with and a bunch I don't.

I’m quite sure they’re not. They peaked as a spoiler in a handful of seats that would otherwise have gone CPC, but that’s as relevant as they ever got. I suppose I can give them a bit of credit for providing a pressure release valve to the CPC- they gave some of the more extreme fringe somewhere else to go, which unchained a bit of a millstone from the CPC’s neck. Now with the CPC’s apparent strength going into the next election, they shouldn’t even need to pretend to pander to the PPC base. Done correctly, that should save the CPC some grief.

I think it was Paul Well's who said that every Federal Liberal staffer desperately wishes they were a cast member of "West Wing". That and the feeling that Federal Liberals would be more comfortable being the mayor of Toronto or Vancouver than being the managers of a G7 country.

Nothing new. Trudeau has been trying to paint PP as Trump North since he was picked as leader. It hasn't stuck over that period, I doubt it will now also.

Poilievre’s popularity (which isn’t particularly high) stems from the fact that he is the CPC leader, and we don’t really have any other options. I would not conflate the CPC’s popularity, his popularity, and the lack of popularity with the current LPC.

According to Abacus Data PP is at about 38% of Canadians having a positive impression of him.

Which is about 4% off of the 42% of Canadians who intend to vote for PP today.

I will relent that it would be interesting to see what would change if the LPC revolted and pushed someone else to the forefront. But it will be hard to find a untarnished Liberal at this point.
